A Botanical Blueprint: Why I Chose the Fern as My Logo

When it came time to choose a logo for SKC Designs, I bypassed the obvious arches, elegant chairs, and windows in favor of something deeper: the fern.

These design elements are part of my daily work, but they don’t reflect the values or process that define my approach. The fern does. 

With its quiet strength, layered growth, and ancient lineage, the fern symbolizes endurance, resilience, and new beginnings. These are qualities I prioritize with every project and every client.

Endurance and Timelessness

Ferns have existed for over 360 million years. Their longevity is a living metaphor for timeless design, which is my exact goal for every space I create.

I design interiors that are timeless and luxurious. Just as the fern has thrived through millennia of change, I craft environments that withstand trends, offering beauty and function for years to come. 

The Symbol of Growth

Ferns begin as tightly coiled fiddleheads, unfurling slowly and deliberately. So does every design.
